SPECIAL NOTE about the CGC Holder. Those imperfections range from imprecise centering within the Holder, to bits of dust or other tiny particles ending up INSIDE the Holder, to excessive Newton Rings.

(if every Holder and every mounting WITHIN the Holder had to be PERFECT, CGC would have to raise the price for their service substantially). THIS CGC Holder came back with a number of very small scuff marks - or imperfections in the Holder's finish - on the front and back of the Holder.

They are most noticeable over the word " THOR " in the logo of the front cover, and can be most easily seen in the 1st photo accompanying this listing. In that photo these small spots look white, but they appear grey-ish when the Holder is in hand.

I felt that THESE minor blemishes were preferable to a LOT of the other imperfections that these Holders often display. SPECIAL NOTE about the condition of this CGC-graded copy of JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY Annual #1. Over the years I've become quite good at estimating the grades that CGC will award the comics I send in.

In my experience, CGC often grades'squarebound' issues, like this Annual, pretty harshly, but I really saw no significant imperfections that would have resulted in a grade below 9.0! The Grader Notes sound NOTHING like the condition of the issue I got back and which is pictured in this listing. Those notes - in their entirety - are as follows. Medium, light, multiple creasing right bottom of front cover.

Medium, very light crease right top of front cover; very light crease left bottom of back cover; very light crease right bottom of front cover breaks color; very light spine stress lines cover breaks color. Sometimes grades come back lower than expected, sometimes higher. This one's grade made me think the Grader was presented with Divorce Papers on the way to work the morning that my. JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY Annual #1. Was on the top of the pile for grading.
