Journey into Mystery #97 (Marvel Comics, October 1963) - The villainous Loki plots and plans, the Lava Man makes his first appearance to unleash his wrath on Thor, Jane Foster makes an appearance. In addition we get the start of the origin of the Tales of Asgard, in this "Super Special Issue". This issue grades about 4.0 VG/4.5 VG+. The cover, which has retained ok reflectivity, and centerfold are firmly attached, the pages are cream- to tan-colored.

The primary detraction is the Marvel chipping on the right-hand edge, which keeps it a notch or two lower in grade. The top left-hand corner has some wear; a few inner-pages have a small chip at the bottom right-hand edge; the back cover has an approx. 1/16 tear at the top edge.
